Echoes of Childhood.
In memories sweet, I often play,
The golden hours of childhood day.
With laughter bright and games galore,
Moments I’ll cherish forevermore.
"Suwe" danced on squares we drew,
Seeds in hand, a balancing crew.
Jumping, laughing, hearts so light,
Filling our days with pure delight.
"Mummy, mummy, kibobo!" we’d cry,
Silly chants as time flew by.
Skipping ropes with rhythm, flair,
“Aba, aba, one, two, go” filled the air.
“Who’s in the garden?” spun with cheer,
Laughter echoed far and near.
“Fire on the mountain,” we’d flee in haste,
In shadows hid, in wild embrace.
“Tinko Tinko,” claps so sweet,
“Country Country” quick on feet.
“Boju Boju,” we’d hide away,
In these games, we found our way.
Forgotten pots burned as we played,
Lost in adventures that never swayed.
With grass dolls, my dreams took flight,
Candy wrappers were our delight.
Bathing dolls, we’d dress with care,
Competing for crowns, without a care.
Looking back, I smile so wide,
At childhood joys that never died.
