A world of our own

We inhabit a world of wonder and might,
Where oceans roar and mountains take flight.
Where everything is colourful,
Even if it's black and white.
Where our surrounding is a reflection of home.

But this beauty, is threatened.
A tale of neglect, and our ignorance.
Our hands, that was once gentle, now ravage and mars the earth,
Pollution and greed now bars rebirth.

The ice that once shone, now melts away,
Leaving scars that will forever stay.
A hopeless situation, now may.

Rising tides, fierce storms, and withering heat,
New diseases, daily arising.
A world in peril, a future to beat.
The clock ticks on, as forests disappear,
And the cries of the wild, echo with fear.

The cloud now, unpredictable
Nature disasters and catastrophes, now a common theme.
And yet, it can only get worse.

Yet still we have time, to alter the course,
To choose sustainability, and a gentler force.
Renewable energy, a beacon of hope,
A chance to redeem, and a future to cope.

Let us join hands, to heal the earth's wounds,
To preserve the beauty, that surrounds.
For we are the guardians, of this world we share,
And the choices we make, will determine its care.

A world of our own, a treasure so rare,
Let us cherish it, and with a kind hand,
show we truly care.
