A New Perspective

As I walk the streets of my estate,
A familiar path I've trodden so great,
I see it anew, with fresh eyes today,
And discover beauty that had gone astray.
The trees, gigantic and grown, now stand
Like sentinels, guarding this verdant land.
Their leaves rustle, a gentle, soothing sound
That whispers secrets, as the breeze swirls around
finally I hear all they've been saying to me.
Their music, unrhymed, yet pleasant to hear
Echoes through my soul, and calms my fear.
The birds, too, join in, their chorus so free
A symphony that's both wild and carefree,
unheavenly yet so divine.
The scorching sun, now tempered by the breeze
Caresses my skin, with a gentle, warm ease.
The sand, a rich, light brown, like bread crumbs so fine
Invites my feet to linger, and savor its divine.
