A Love Unimaginable.

He showered me with love,
A love I shy away from, scared to indulge
He promised me the heavens,
Freely gave himself as a gift,
Yet my fear grew...
"This is too good to be true," my mind screamed.
How can this man give up everything?
Definitely, he wants something in return I reasoned
Alas! Was I wrong? Yes.
I dared not believe I could be loved
Yet I saw his love, shining so brightly
I feared I'll go blind
He freely gave his all, life included
How exactly am I worthy of this Love? I asked.
All showed I am undeserving but him...
He surprised me. I dared not let hope flare until he showed me
He gave me this hope others extinguished
I'm so glad he found me when he did
A child found hopeless in a pit;
Covered in bile both his creation and others.
How he chose me remains a mystery.
Yes, I find myself denying this love
But I could never deny it's presence.
Empty yet filled by his Love
If only my faith was not so ephemeral.
I try to believe.
