I Am A Woman - Grace Ekoh (Book Review)

I am a Woman

I am Willful
I am Obvious
I am Mature
I am Ambitious
and I Nurture

Yes! I am a woman

Broken into many pieces
Patched up with scars like a map
Still full of love to give

I am a woman
I birth
I nurture and
I stay strong for my young

My scars heal yet I still hurt
The hurt makes me aggressive
The scars make me evasive
And my smile becomes a facade

My attitude is vexing — It needs love
My words are hurtful — it needs more love
My temper flares — it needs even more love

I am a woman; broken and scarred

I am Willful
I am Obvious
I am Mature
I am Ambitious
and I Nurture

Yes! I am a woman

Above all
I am human and so are you.
©Grace Ekoh 2019

Going through this wonderful piece of artistry- by Grace Ekoh, I realized that being a woman comes with great expectations and responsibilities. It changed my perception about poetry and gave me a whole new perspective about this genre.
Poetry you see conveys a deep meaningful message, straight to the hearts of thousands of people from all over the world.

I am a woman talks about the pride and beauty of being a woman and also human with a strong sense of identity, purpose,self- awareness and accepting your body as it adapts and changes over time
Not minding they sacrifices we make over time, regardless of the hurts and scars, being confident and nurturing people in our lives.

We have the wisdom to be grateful for what we have, while still striving for growth.
"I Am A Woman And Also Human", So Are You!!!
