A DAY IN MY LIFE

"What the heck!" I shouted as I jumped upright from the bed, being woken from my slumber by a horrible nightmare.
I struggled to open my eyes as the rays of light from the breaking of the day rushed into my pupil like a gutter running water during rainfall.
I managed to open my eyes clearly as my pupil adapted to the rays of light gradually.
Moving my gaze quickly towards the direction where my phone is, I hurriedly reached out to my phone, fixing my gaze at the screen to ascertain the time.
"Oh my God!" I shouted as I stared widely at my phone.
"It's 8:00 am already?"
I quickly jumped up from the bed, and rushed towards the bathroom.
My exam was in an hour, and my residence is an hour plus journey to my school.
As I hurriedly made my way to the bathroom, my head pounded heavily.
I overshot time the night before, surfing through the internet and replying to the hilarious texts from my friends.
I got carried away by the humorous videos from the social media that I forgot about my exams the next day.
I quickly picked my soap dish and rushed to the bathroom, hurriedly taking my shower and saying my prayers at the same time, LoL.
Rushing out of the bathroom with my half washed body– so I felt. I grabbed my towel and wiped off the droplets of water dripping down my body.
You cannot imagine my rushing skills (na flash wey I be 😂). I juggled the responsibilities of putting on my clothes and my shoes; you can imagine how I would appear after that.
"Guy, you never jack oo," a thought tingled steadily in my head.
"Omo, I geh men shaa, MEN I TRUST," I said to myself, waving the thoughts aside.
Finally, I'm on my way to school, walking hurriedly as though being chased by unseen forces.
Luckily, I got to school earlier before the exam. The exam commenced not quite long after my arrival.
I scanned through the pages of my textbook, hoping that I could grab something before my number would be mentioned.
"At least I go use am join the one wey MEN I TRUST get," I had said to myself.
Gazing at the textbook, I waited patiently for my name to be called.
"Wait oo, dem dun pass my name oo," I said, trying so hard to recall my number. I could only remember THE MEN I TRUST who had always been beside me but not my number.
I raised my face hurriedly, staring sideways to ascertain from the people around me but found no one– I was standing alone.
"Ahh, have trumpet sound on top this small exam?" I wondered.
"Ogbeni, na only you Waka come," said another thought.
It dawned on me that I forgot to check and confirm my number the day before the exam.
"Yeh! I'm finished," my heart yelled.
Looking forward, I was faced by the fierce look of the examiner who had been staring at me for a while.
"What's your number young man?" He asked, keeping a straight face.
"I…I," I stammered and trembled before the examiner.
He glared at me furiously and hissed, turning his gaze to the script in his hand.
"What's your name?"
"Matthew Promise," I answered, making a slight step towards him and turning my gaze towards his script as though I'm trying to inspect the script.
He raised his face and glared at me again as I made a step backwards, trembling.
"Oya, stay here!" He echoed as he pointed at the stool in front of the hall.
"Hah! I'm finished."
How am I supposed to cope without THE MEN I TRUST? I looked sideways and by my right was Sister Chinyere and by my right, Bro Emos.
"Ok, I think it's all over," I mumbled.
I grabbed my pen and stared at the question paper– at least I scanned through the slides before entering the hall.
It seemed as though the only thing my brain could recollect from the slide was the prepositions and conjunctions from the slide– the "is, and, am, in, on, e.t.c.
Adrenaline started pumping heavily from my adrenal gland– I started sweating profusely, my breath seized as I tried so hard to catch up with it.
I looked at my Sis. Chinyere and Bro. Emos who were busy writing, and at some point looked up to the ceiling and murmured to themselves.
"Ok, maybe that's the trick," I said to myself as I raised my head to the ceiling.
The only thing I could utter as I gazed on the ceiling was Psalm 121.
"I look up to the the… haewwww,"
"Where would my help come from, my help comes from the lord, who made heaven and earth," I recited as I grabbed my pen simultaneously and wrote them down on my Paper.
Stepping out of the exam hall, I gazed at the sky and heaved a sigh of relief.
"Jesus take the wheel," I muttered as I raised my hands to the sky.
Na result I de wait for shaa, mek I know whether em take the wheel abi…
Haewww.🥴
