"The Unseen Scar: Exposing the Reality of Gender-Based Violence."

"Every time we liberate a woman, we liberate a man." – Margaret Mead

In a world where progress is often celebrated, the harsh realities of gender-based violence remain a somber reminder of the inequalities that persist.

Gender-based violence is a pandemic that affects millions of people worldwide, regardless of their age, sex, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. It is a crisis that is often shrouded in silence, hidden behind closed doors, and masked by the shame and fear of its survivors.

One in three women experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. The narrative often overlooks the profound emotional and psychological scars that carry far beyond the physical realm. These scars, though unseen, shape lives, influence communities, and disrupt societal progress.

It is a pervasive issue that leaves behind scars invisible to the eyes but deeply etched in the psyche of those who endure it.

We, as humans, should work towards a world free from gender-based violence. As we work towards a world free of gender-based violence, it is essential that we listen to and amplify the voices of survivors. We must create safe spaces for them to share their stories without fear of judgment or retribution.

We must educate and create awareness in order to play vital roles in reshaping societal perspectives on gender-based violence. We must also hold perpetrators accountable for their actions and work to change the societal norms and attitudes that perpetuate violence.

By exposing these realities of gender-based violence, societies can begin to dismantle the conditions that allow the violence to persist. They will pave the way towards an equitable and just world where every individual can live free from fear and violence.

Always remember, "The seeds of success in every nation on earth are best planted in women and children." – Joyce Banda
