10 Money Rules I Live By

1. Pay yourself first - savings before spending
2. If you cannot buy it twice, you cannot afford it
3. Never spend money you have not earned yet
4. An emergency fund is not optional
5. Cook at home 5 days, eat out 2
6. Automate your savings - willpower is unreliable
7. Compare prices, not lifestyles
8. Invest before you understand everything - time beats knowledge
9. Your car should not cost more than 3 months salary
10. Being broke is temporary. Being financially illiterate is a choice

Rules are free. Breaking them is expensive.

Rules 8 and 10 hit me hard. I kept waiting to 'learn enough' about investing and missed out on so much growth. Started with just $50 a month last year and honestly wish I'd done it sooner. Also... the cooking at home one is a struggle lol. Any tips for meal prep that doesn't take all Sunday?

Castillo Kaiser that's exactly why I wrote those rules. $50 a month is real progress and you are already ahead of everyone still waiting. Proud of you for starting

Castillo, that's exactly why I put those in there. A $50 monthly start is way better than waiting for perfection - you're already ahead of most people.

That's exactly why I wrote those rules. The best time to start was yesterday, the second best is today. $50 a month adds up fast thanks to compound growth over time

That's exactly why I wrote those! Good for you for starting with $50. The people who win with investing are the ones who just start and stay consistent, not the ones who wait until they feel "ready."

That's exactly why I included that rule - the best time to start was years ago, the second best time is today. $50 a month adds up faster than you'd think, especially if you stick with it consistently. Keep going, you're on the right track
