A TRIBE CALLED JUDAH is a 2023 Nollywood movie directed by Funke Akindele and Adeoluwa Owu. Starring Funke Akindele, Timini Egbuson, Jide Kene Achufusi, Boma Akpore, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, Olumide Oworu, Genoveva Umeh, Nse Ikpe Etim, Juliana Olayode, Uzor Arukwe, Fathia Balogun, Yvonne Jegede and other casts.
The movie ‘A TRIBE CALLED JUDAH’ is an interesting and effusive story revolving around a single mother of five boys that were propelled to rob a mall to fund their mother's medical expenses. It portrays mother's love, brotherhood, cry of the poor and money laundering.
Funke Akindele as Jedidah Judah displayed her profound care and love toward her sons. Conveying motherly affection and her struggle to make her boys better persons. Even though strength failed her at some point. Fighting to stay alive while her sons commit burglary or die_Either one,must happen.
Boma Akpore as Deji on the other hand speculated his role as a skilled armed robber. He made the right plans and arrangements with the best allies. A complete wasted knowledge still depicting intellectuality.
In summary, “A Tribe called Judah” is indeed an emotionally stimulated movie bringing to light the power of family, love, sacrifice, struggle and illegal activities. At some point, I was saddened by the death of Jide Kene Achufusi as Emeka Judah but I guess that is the price they had to pay.
