The Life of a Lawyer in Equity

sometimes I live in the fear of tomorrow
what will I be offered in the morrow?
After the toils of five years
with pride filled with fear,
I walk elegantly cladded in my white and black
I put on a facade of boldness
yet I reek of fear
what a life of a learned man.

Everyday I am called proud
while Mary was called blessed
I burn my midnight candle on a daily basis
I shun sleep to meet deadline
when am tied down by fatigue
The future motivates me
who am I not to be proud?

I am a lawyer in equity
Hungry to be a part of the bar and the bench
I am a lawyer in equity
Ready to advocate for my people
Nobody but a lawyer in equity
Ready to deliver and not merely to administer justice
That the lay man understands not.
