Passage

Heaven rises from the earth,
Distil upwards to dust off early
Mist from the face of the sky

Dawn sullenly wake
On night's
Mat and shakes

The night off the cocks feathers,
The cocks spit gold from the throat and
Hang it on the horizon;

Ancient trumpeters,
Gong-throated messengers
Announcing daybreak;
The day will break
Whether you crow or not.

The gold metamorphoses
Into a yellow ball of fire
Licking the dew off early leaves,

Kissing earth-water into its
Bossom, it moves
Trailing a path of flame,

Sunbeam,
Incendiary touch,
Tongue of flame...

See,
The road is ripe
The foes abound
Ancestors of yore
Your son calls you

Hope rises with the gold,
Shines with the sun; creativity hides
Deep in the belly of the dusk,

The dusk wraps the sun
First into a fireball
Then into the lucent moon;

Moon, night maid;
Mistress of the sky;
Master of the stars.
