About a love lost in a moment of prison

The year was December 31, 1980
A tale of love that was stolen under the midnight moon
In the heart of Africa, amidst the serene waters
Two hearts intertwined, destined for forever

But on that fateful night, cruel fate intervened
She was taken away, lost in the void, my heart uncleaned
A love story shattered, filled with deep emotion
I wept in pain, my spirit forever broken

She vanished into the night, swallowed by the sea
I vowed to find her, to bring her back to me
The year turned, and with it, my determination grew
A love so strong, I had to see it through

1981, a new chapter begin
A journey I embark on to find my long lost love

Verse 1:
In the heart of Lagos, where the music never sleeps
I set out on a journey, into the unknown deep
A man on a mission, fueled by love and despair
I'll traverse the waters, I'll find her, I swear

Chorus:
Story, story to the ear that choose to listen
Where you dey, my love? Water don don submerge
Searching for you every day and every night
But my heart don turn to stone, from all the strife
Even if the water keep on rising, I no go leelee

Verse 2:
From the bustling markets, to the vibrant streets
I sought guidance from elders, their wisdom so sweet
They whispered of a mystical island afar
Where love lost is found, where souls reunite like stars

Chorus:
Story, story to the ear that choose to listen
An afrobeat symphony, our love's eternal prison
With every beat and every rhyme, my heart's confession
A tale of lost love, our ultimate obsession

Verse 3:
Through treacherous waters and relentless storms
I fought against all odds, defying the norms
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months
But my love for her never waned, it remained robust

Chorus:
Story, story to the ear that choose to listen
Where you dey, my love? Water don don submerge
*Searching for you every day and every night
*But my heart don turn to stone, from all the strife
*Even if the water keep on rising, I no go leelee

Verse 4:
Where has my love gone, what has she become
The tides of time have washed away the sun
I keep searching for her, though our love is done
Like an ancient story, I keep hoping for her return

The years have passed, but the tides have turned
We met again, our love was learned
The waves of time washed away the hurt
And brought us back together, as if by fate's concern

Chorus
Story, story to the ear that choose to listen
Where you dey, my love? Water don don submerge
Searching for you every day and every night
But my heart don turn to stone, from all the strife
Even if the water keep on rising, I no go leelee
