LYSIS

To night
I saw in a wailing toddler
solitary at the crossroads
--- the feature of my country
bedridden

of corruption and tribalism
as pale as famine,
as apathetic as death
lay in a divan of perpetual
depression

With political sack cloth overlay
her shepherds clad with heart of beast
occlude rising sun,
snogging moon befog!

In unremitting brash darkness
nor in the absence of Sun
greens never blossom

Tidal bore surge --
drown the dugout of corruption
turtle the boat of tribalism;
ship of yoke shattered into pieces
at the foot of a wailing toddler

the pieces are shared
several boats emerge;
some sail to the shore
others float on the sea

like spring buds some blossom;
our feature
stagger to the shore!
