MY NIGERIAN DREAM
In our world of happiness filled with misery,
We have learned to walk and spin,
And every teardrop on our face speaks history.
Every step we take feels like walking on a pin,
Holding on hand in hand.
In a country where the leaders of tomorrow are lost,
Walking hand in hand through the path carved for them.
Nigeria, the leader of tomorrow, has never lived
To witness the tomorrow
Promised and forgotten by the elders.
In Nigeria, my country, the poor are breathless.
Every day we cruise on our problems, restless,
Living every day while we tell ourselves that it's okay to breathe,
A nation we all begged to breathe,
"Let the poor breathe."
The leader of tomorrow is now IDAN,
Grooving from one barracks to another,
Known as a terrorist in all of Ibadan.
Every day we blame ourselves while we backbite each other,
Weeping hand in hand.
In the streets, a chorus strong,
Voices raised, they right the wrong.
End SARS they cry, hearts aflame,
For justice and a fairer aim,
Fighting hand in hand.
I remember the only hope of Iya Tope,
Killed like a criminal at a peaceful protest,
In search of a secure future and hope.
He lost the chance to see what he lived to protect,
With cold eyes that speak hand in hand.
In Nigeria's dream, a struggle fierce and bold,
A story of resilience, through times untold.
From diverse cultures, united they stand,
Facing challenges, hand in hand,
A story worthy of history.
In my Nigeria dream, the ethnic sweet song,
Cultural tapestry is entwined, and forever strong.
A mosaic of traditions, stories to unfold,
Generations united, a legacy untold,
Endless conventions hand in hand.
My Nigeria dream, a symphony of conformity,
In variety's embrace, we find our possibility.
From North to South, East to West, we stand,
Hand in hand, a nation foreordained to expand,
Potentials flowing through the veins.
I dream of advancement, technology's embrace,
Innovations blooming, shaping destiny's face.
Entrepreneurial essence, a flourishing stream,
Fueling economic growth is an inspiring theme,
Aspiring together hand in hand.
From Maiduguri's sands to the Niger Delta's shore,
In my Nigeria dream, peace will be restored.
Families triumphing, hearts free from fear,
A rhythmic hymn for all to hear,
Holding hands in happiness.
Economic prowess, industries arise,
Entrepreneurial spirit reaching for the skies.
Invention and improvement, a thriving scene,
My Nigeria dream was painted in vibrant shine,
With brilliant refinement hand in hand.
In the realm of health, care for all in need,
A healthier Nigeria, where lives can truly succeed.
From bustling markets to fields of gold,
My Nigeria dream is a story to be told,
Becoming the world's health domain hand in hand.
Through challenges faced, resilience shall rise,
Together we'll conquer, under sunlit skies.
A Nigeria where justice and peace hold sway,
Empowering each citizen to find their way,
A new Nigeria we will hold hand in hand.
