a shade too late

upon the winding road I walk
down the harrowing end
I froze at the thought of it all
pain of doom
tearing through my mangled heart
in the very prime of my life
fresh like salamander underbelly I stood
a feather dancing in the sun
hundreds of heads turning to behold
as I ravished the sun and moon,
a living beauty
upon my chest stood a lawn
a Valley of lust running down
while on both sides stood Everest
nipples ripe like sweet tangeline
many a men lusted
and looted
lifting me off my feet in praises that stilled my brain stealing caution
in turns they came
as i ravaged the land like whirlwind
leaving sweet memories like dust on shrubs
oh fair heart
fairer than ten angel rolled up
each said
in manner extolling my beauty
swelling my head like balloon of Paris
the sun set and sun rose
with the moon kissing the dawn and dusk in turns
seconds, minutes ticked away
as months and years rolled by
yet a thousand army through my treasure trove dug
making Solomon's mine coy with envy...
my diamond shone and brightly too
even Queen of Sheba was enraged at my reign
suddenly
from hundreds only tens knocked as the days rolled into months
and months into years
and now I am left threadbare
eaten to the bone
left for debris after the rain
my Everest despoiled and flat
beauty creased into frown
and day by day
my leaves turn yellow
leaving me a relic of my old self
now I sit by eating chaff for dinner
in sober reflection, I drown myself dead.
