I would rather be a feminist
"You know, men are superior to us in everything and you should learn to respect them and satisfy their masculine ego".I heard that from a very good friend who thought women are second class citizens. I laughed and my heart wept, because the kind of mentality she carries makes her think that a man should be in control of her life. I would rather be a feminist than satisfy the "chauvinist ego" of a man.
Feminism does not stop you from having regard for humanity, nor does it stop you from respecting the person that deserves it. Feminism means a lot to me and the first thing it means to me is that I have equal rights to everything a man has. It means I'm no less of a human because I am a female. Sometimes it makes me feel special and then I tell myself that " Nothing stops me from doing this excellently and brilliantly with a touch of femininity.
Africans look at feminism as a way of justifying your pride and unsubmissiveness as a woman. A feminist is almost an outcast in society and such people are not expected to marry, because they think they are too proud to be under any man. To think of it, do you think any man would love to have a wife that thinks she is equal to him in the marriage and everything as a wife? Certainly, no! Nobody would want to. Sadly, the kind of picture Africans paint of feminism has made some people who truly want it run away from it, and those who do it boldly are labeled as rude, pompous and unsubmissive.
Nevertheless, I would rather be a feminist and fight for it til the whole world accepts it unbiasedly. I refuse to be trampled on and underestimated because I am a woman. In fact, being a woman makes me unique and intriguing, because I dare the consequences and do things that are "reserved" for men. I consider myself a happy, sensible, submissive feminist.🤍
This is a time of great awakening for all women out there to go and change the world with different special abilities they have. Every woman should go out there and prepare the ground for the coming generation and unleash the potential in them.
However, feminism should not be used as an excuse to be arrogant and disrespectful. It should rather be a tool and a platform to express ourselves and soar. Rather than cowardly submitting to the evil and retarded mentality of male superiority, I will rather be a submissive feminist, who will marry, have lovely children and make an impact. Every man out there should abandon the evil and dehumanizing mentality of women being inferior and second class. Erase the mentality of using women as tools to get what you want. By doing so, the world will be a better place for not only women to live, but for everyone.
