SPOKEN WORD POETRY
WARRIOR
By
EYO JEDIDIAH PRECIOUS
I'm a warrior
A warrior.
Though with many wounds
You can't beat me to my games.
Though my legs, enveloped in POP
And my hands stitched from a deep tear
I hold my sword and dagger
Like it's my life.
I'm a warrior
One with deep scar all over
Once with a bleeding chest and plugged oxygen.
But with all this
I stroll into the battle front taking the lead
Like it's my Father's sitting room, yea.
Battling and conquering.
The battle is hot
But why does it feel like a child's playroom.
The tension isn't intensifying enough.
In my days of broken forearm, bandaged head and fractured knee
I laid on my matrass of comfort
Allowing The Master to
Psalms 144:1
"Train my hands to war
And my fingers to fight"
Though with hands wrapped in bandage.
Other warriors said,
"Stress not your bones,
Little one.
Another war will surely come
For you to lead.
Rest".
But how do I tell them
This war determines if I will live to see another.
How do I tell them
No one can fight this better than i.
How do I tell them
The Master made me go through the surgical knife,
Fixed my broken bones
Adding stitches to previous ones
To emerge me a Winner.
How do I tell them
He left an instruction,
"I didn't bring you this far
To lag behind,
And leave the battle front empty".
So I insisted without voicing reasons
And they decided to help
Giving me a pair of clutches which I despise,
But took it out of respect.
Going to the battle was tedious
I alone bore my burdens;
A wrapped arm and leg,
Weapons of war
And a pair of clutches stucked under arm.
Told those with me,
"The clutch is burdensome".
They replied,
"You just barely made it through
The self breathing stage
Linger a bit longer".
Took few steps with this in mind,
"I might not make it
To the battle field
If I keep hold of the
Extra baggage,
The clutches".
With a daring courage
I threw it away
Though staggering.
"Take back the clutches",
My mind scolded.
"No", I counted.
Leaving it behind without
Turning back,
Unlike Mrs. Pillar Of Salt, Lot's wife,
Because where I'm headed to is
Far better than where I'm coming from.
Got to the battle ground.
Come and see them lying on the ground like mince meat
With their sword pinning
Each of them to the ground.
Remembering The Master's words,
"I made you go through
The surgical knife,
Broken bones, etc
To emerge you a Winner".
I was sent to a battle meant for me
To go and see the victory given me.
Not one of them got a chance to live and leave the battlefield
Like Sisera in Judges 4:17.
With my Father's help
I keep winning in my lifetime
Unlike Samson who made
More wins in death
God forbid.
Psalms 71:7a
"I am a surprise and wonder
To many,
Because (Psalms 51:8)
"He made me hear joy and
Gladness
And be satisfied
Even my broken bones rejoices".
Yes (Psalms 34:6)
"I cried to the Lord,
He heard me
And saved me from
All troubles".
When next you see me
Call me,
"The Living Warrior"
Because as I told you earlier
Am not like Samson
And the battle is far from over
As far as the opponents are not
Flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12).
Psalms 27:13
"(What would have become
Of me)
Had I not believed
I would see The Lord's goodness
In the land of the living
TESTAMENT OF A WARRIOR GOD IS HELPING.
