You can’t miss it tonight if you’re outside after dusk. SpaceX has another Starfall demo launching from the Cape, and we always get a show here in Daytona. The window opens around 6:30 p.m., but I’d plan to be out by 6:15 because the first few minutes are the best.

I’ve watched these from the Boardwalk and from the pier at Flagler Beach. Honestly, the best view is from the beach itself, just south of the pier near the Hilton. You get the full horizon and the reflection off the water. If you go to the Dunlawton approach, there’s a pull-off spot just before the bridge where locals park their trucks. Bring a chair and a blanket. It gets chilly quick once the sun drops.

A word of warning: traffic on A1A will be a mess right after. People stop in the middle of the road to film. If you park at the beach ramp, give yourself an extra 20 minutes to get out. Better yet, bike down or walk from the nearest lot. The sound of the rocket rumble hits stronger here too.

This is the kind of thing that makes living here worth the summer humidity. We don’t just get spring break crowds. We get literal rocket science in our backyard.

Dang, I wish I still lived in FL just for stuff like this. Used to watch launches from my aunt's place in Cocoa Beach and the way the whole sky lights up... nothing like it. Thanks for the tip about the Dunlawton spot, gonna send this to my buddy who's still down there. Hope y'all get a clear one tonight!
