God, Me and the World

Born into a world of deceit,
I was told to never accept defeat, thus I hallowed in self pity and pride,
like a peacock, still learning to fly higher.

My happiness were directed by words.
if I was told to smile I would,
if I was forced to cry, I would make a river,
A puppet without his strings is like a bird without wings.
These words became my strings.

The world played games with my mind.
In a trance I was, I thought all my efforts left miscarriages and polluted success,
I was told I was nothing,
Thus I am a dirt in a world of dreams, to the world it seems.

Lies! All lies.
The truth is I am enough.
I may not be the best but in my weakness I am made perfect in God my father.

Although the way is narrow, he leads me through it all.
He is close to me, the air I breathe, the path where I tread and the light, my everlasting light.

The world sees me damned and accused,
He sees me as a Nation for fortitude.
Once my happiness relied on words,
Now I have joy in chaos, anxiety,
I have peace and within me he lives.
