#The SILENCE SOUND
(An elegy in loving memory of my MUM after three years of great silence)
In the grand tapestry of life's design,
An elegy now unfolds, poetic and refined,
For my dear Mum, who rests in timeless sleep,
Three years of silence, a memory we'll keep.
Life, a mystery wrapped in sweet honey's embrace,
Uncertainty's shadow masked by hope's grace,
But when dawn broke that fateful, beautiful day,
The birds sang their sonorous tunes, far away.
"Mummy," she answered, her voice ringing clear,
Yet as the sun set, a silence drew near,
Three years have gone by, but it feels like a blink,
Your voice lingers on, in echoes we still drink.
Oh, death, your silence seeps through our veins,
Never far from us, its presence remains,
Each day dawning with thoughts of your pain,
In a world where your absence is felt again.
But your memory, your love, forever will stay,
A void that no words can aptly convey,
In our hearts, your warmth is forever kept,
For you, our dear Mum, we silently wept.
Though death has parted us for a while,
We hold onto hope, embracing each smile,
Today, we celebrate the legacies you leave,
Your beautiful soul, in joyous pain, we grieve.
Rest on, dear Mum, till we meet again,
In glory's embrace, where hearts will mend,
Fondly remembered by Dad, Akaninyene, Nyeneime, Nsikan, Iboro and more,
Your cherished ones, united to the core.
