Dialogue for change
In Nigeria's embrace, a nation yearns for voice,
Amongst the masses, a desire to rejoice.
A land that echoes with a silent strife,
Where whispers yearn to ignite a vibrant life.
"When a person speaks," they say in light,
"He makes more waves than a bullet's might."
But amidst these waves that crash and sway,
I question if words alone can pave the way.
For how long can we indulge in endless debate?
Like a murmuring brook, will our voices dissipate?
In this country of endless tongues and tales,
Where truths and fictions intertwine as veils.
Words, eloquent and powerful, indeed,
Can heal the wounds and fuel a nation's need.
Yet, I ponder if the sheer act of speaking,
Can quiver the foundations and end our seeking.
Does dialogue alone hold the key,
To mend the divisions and set us free?
Or should we weave with actions, resolute,
A tapestry of unity, an unbreakable pursuit?
For how long can we immerse in discourse,
While echoing cries of the voiceless endorse?
Deeper than words, in silence there lies,
The echoes of pain that may yet arise.
Let dialogue flow like a gentle stream,
But let each ripple be a call to redeem,
To act with purpose, to bridge every gap,
To uplift the marginalized from their societal trap.
It is in deeds, emboldened by our words,
That true liberation can ever be stirred.
For unity is not found in talk alone,
But in actions that resonate, that are deeply sown.
So, when you speak, with waves you create,
Remember the silence, the voices that await,
Balance words with deeds, let actions speak,
For profound change is the unity we should seek.
