As I snapped this photo, a wave of d茅j脿 vu washed over me. It felt like I'd seen this exact moment before - the warm smile, the gentle gesture, and the effortless camaraderie. Then, Miss Tolanni's iconic image of Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina popped into my head; the similarity was striking.
This was a candid moment between two Nigerian education giants: Dr. Murufu Olatunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, and Chief Wole Olanipekun, the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Lagos. We were in the senate chambers, just moments before the Convocation Procession began. The atmosphere was electric, but these two leaders were lost in their own little world.
Through my lens, I captured Dr. Alausa adjusting Chief Olanipekun's bow tie. It was a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes about their relationship. They're two elite men in the Nigerian Educational sector, and in that moment, they were just two friends looking out for each other.
As a photographer, I've learned to appreciate the little things - a smile, a gesture, a glance. These are the things that reveal someone's true character and make a photograph truly special. This photo isn't just a snapshot; it's a story about friendship, camaraderie, and the bonds that tie us together.
