TRIBUTES TO THE CHILD I NEVER WAS

Told my mom,
I was going to be fine,
I lied.
I wasn't fine yesterday,
nor the days prior.
I wasn't going to be fine tomorrow,
or the days after.

The death stench,
stinks so bad.
I could feel it in my bones,
sensed its fluttering wings,
sereneding me, in its cold embrace,
saw it in my visions,
as death called.

Still, here I am,
firmly rooted, within my thoughts,
in silence,
acting as the perfect blank canvas,
with no memories, to reminisce about,
bidding good-byes, paying tributes,
to the child I never was.
