He Listens

When my heavy heart
Prevents the utterance of a word
And all I can say is a sigh
He listens

When I can't tell it
When there's no one to tell it to
When it's too painful to tell
He listens

When none understands
My pain-crypted lingo
Expressing inaudible cries
He listens

Through the silent sobs
Amidst the jarring wails
Through the voiceless pains
He listens

A Friend for all seasons
A Comforter at all times
A Listener, a Burden-lifter
Jesus listens
