THE WEIGHT BEHIND THE LAUGH
by SIMU
Sometimes, the ones who laugh the loudest,
who bend the room with their joy,
who make others pause and smile without reason…
carry worlds on their shoulders
that would crumble the strongest in an instant.
The laughter is not denial.
It is armor.
It is a quiet rebellion against the weight they bear.
It is a declaration: “I may carry the storm, but I will not let it silence me.”
And those who witness,
those who see only the joy,
often forget that every bright note may be threaded through
with shadows unseen,
with battles fought in silence,
with resilience sculpted from pain.
To laugh like that,
to shine like that,
requires courage beyond what words can measure.
It is the paradox of the soul:
heavy yet light,
broken yet radiant,
burdened yet joyously alive.
So the next time you see someone’s laughter,
listen not just to the sound
feel the depth behind it,
the quiet strength that refuses to bow.
