The Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, FCIA, CON, has commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his visionary leadership and renewed determination to unlock Yobe’s vast natural resources for the collective prosperity of its people.
Hon. Salisu Muktari described the governor’s latest economic reform agenda as a bold and people-driven vision that reflects sincerity, inclusivity, and a deep commitment to sustainable development—a leadership style he said continues to inspire hope across the state.
Speaking on the heels of the governor’s recent declaration during the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) sensitisation workshop held in Damaturu, Hon. Muktari said Gov. Buni’s commitment to harness Yobe’s mineral wealth has repositioned the state as a new frontier for investment and innovation.
“Governor Buni has redefined what leadership means—he is not only rebuilding our state after years of insurgency, but he is rebuilding confidence in government and giving our people a renewed sense of direction,” Hon. Muktari stated.
He noted that under the Buni administration, Yobe is no longer seen as a post-conflict region but as a land of opportunities driven by peace, productivity, and partnership.
Hon. Muktari praised the establishment of the Yobe State Agency for Public-Private Partnership and Investment Promotion and the soon-to-be operational State Council for Ease of Doing Business, saying both initiatives reflect the governor’s commitment to opening Yobe’s doors to investors and creating jobs for the youth.
He further explained that Yobe’s mineral endowments—including limestone, gypsum, granite, iron, copper, and manganese—are now being strategically mapped for responsible exploration, ensuring that the state’s natural wealth directly benefits local communities.
“The people of Yobe, especially here in Potiskum, have strong faith in Governor Buni’s vision,” Hon. Salisu Muktari added. “Our LGA remains a willing partner in driving his economic transformation plan; we will continue to support every effort that strengthens business growth, empowers our youth, and uplifts families.”
Hon. Muktari also lauded the peace and rebuilding efforts championed by Governor Buni, which he said have restored stability and created an enabling environment for economic resurgence.
He emphasized that Potiskum—being the commercial heartbeat of Yobe—will continue to align with the governor’s agenda by promoting community participation, transparency, and grassroots inclusion in all economic activities.
As Yobe rises from years of adversity into an era of renewal and growth, Hon. Muktari said the people are witnessing the true essence of leadership—one that turns challenges into opportunities and resources into results.
“Governor Mai Mala Buni has proven that development is not about words, but about willpower. Today, Yobe stands as a symbol of resilience, vision, and purposeful leadership. We are proud to be part of this transformation journey,” he affirmed.
