The Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has joined the government and people of Yobe State in celebrating the state’s remarkable national achievement as Nigeria’s top-performing state in health budget implementation, according to the 2025 BudgIT State of States Report.
The report ranked Yobe first nationwide with a 98.2% health budget implementation rate, a performance Hon. Salisu Muktari described as a testament to Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s visionary leadership, fiscal discipline, and sincere commitment to the welfare of Yobe citizens.
“This outstanding record is not just a number; it reflects a government that works for its people,” Hon. Muktari said. “Governor Buni’s commitment to health has restored confidence in public institutions and inspired all local governments to serve with greater responsibility and compassion.”
He further commended the Yobe State Primary Healthcare Management Board (YSPHMB) under the leadership of ES Babagana Kundi Machina for its professionalism, dedication, and visible impact at the grassroots, noting that the board has remained a strong pillar in implementing the governor’s health transformation agenda across all 17 local government areas.
As chairman of Potiskum LGA, the state’s largest and most populated council, Hon. Salisu Muktari reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for the state’s health initiatives through community engagement, expansion of primary health services, and proactive emergency response mechanisms.
He noted that the Potiskum Local Government under his leadership has maintained an open-door governance approach, allowing health officials, traditional leaders, and residents to freely access the council for timely support and collaboration on healthcare delivery.
“Here in Potiskum, we are determined to strengthen every aspect of our health system in line with His Excellency’s vision,” he said. “We will continue to invest in preventive care, maternal and child health, and medical support services to ensure no citizen is left behind.”
He also praised the dedication of doctors, nurses, and community health workers across the state, describing them as “the heartbeat of Yobe’s health success.”
He added that the collective efforts of the governor, the State Primary Healthcare Board, and all LGAs have made Yobe a symbol of efficiency, accountability, and compassion in healthcare governance.
As Yobe celebrates this national recognition, Hon. Salisu Muktari reaffirmed that Potiskum remains a proud partner in Gov. Buni’s mission to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous Yobe State where every life matters.
