A new spirit of hope is rising in Yobe State as Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, renews his commitment to transform the state’s economy through the power of its land, its people, and its natural wealth.
At a sensitization workshop organized by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in Damaturu, Gov. Buni—represented by his Deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune)—reaffirmed his administration’s determination to harness the state’s rich mineral resources to create jobs, attract investors, and build a sustainable future for every Yobe citizen.
“Our land is blessed, our people are hardworking, and our vision is clear; we will turn our natural blessings into opportunities that benefit every family and every community,” the governor declared.
Gov. Buni explained that Yobe’s economy is being repositioned for growth through deliberate policies that promote transparency, accountability, and private investment.
He also said the creation of the Yobe State Agency for Public-Private Partnership and Investment Promotion, alongside the soon-to-be-launched State Council for Ease of Doing Business, marks a new beginning for Yobe’s economic transformation.
The governor highlighted that Yobe is blessed with a wide range of minerals—including limestone, gypsum, granite, clay, iron, copper, manganese, and diatomite—which have remained largely untapped for decades due to the insurgency that once devastated the state.
He assured that his administration’s rebuilding efforts have restored peace, revived confidence, and created a strong foundation for economic recovery.
Representing the RMAFC Chairman, Dr. M.B. Shehu, the Federal Commissioner for Yobe, Alhaji Modu Aji Juluri, commended Governor Buni’s leadership, describing Yobe as “a state ready to lead in Nigeria’s new economic diversification drive.”
He explained that the new solid minerals data rendition templates introduced by the Commission will promote accurate tracking of mining revenues and ensure fairness and transparency in resource management.
Observers note that Yobe’s steady progress under Gov. Buni’s leadership has become a model for purposeful governance—one built on courage, inclusivity, and long-term vision. From rebuilding communities destroyed by conflict to reviving economic opportunities, his administration continues to demonstrate that real development begins with people.
Today, Yobe stands as a symbol of resilience and rebirth—a state where every project, every reform, and every new policy is guided by the vision of turning natural wealth into human prosperity.
Under Governor Mai Mala Buni, Yobe is not just discovering its minerals—it is discovering its future.
