I finally stopped by Chikini Monie's new branch on Oba Adesida Road last night and honestly? It's a game changer for those of us who work late or just can't sleep early. I live around Ijoka and used to have zero options after 10 p.m. for a proper hot meal except the roadside pepper soup joints near Futa junction.

The new place is right opposite the big First Bank building, just a few steps from the roundabout. Easy to spot because the yellow and red sign is bright enough to see from the other side of the road. Parking is tight though - I had to squeeze my car near the tire vulcanizer shop next door. If you drive a big bus or SUV, maybe park at the bank's lot after hours.

What I actually ate? Their signature jollof rice with grilled chicken and plantain. The rice had that smoky, party-style flavor - not too sweet, not too dry. The chicken was properly charred on the outside but still juicy inside. They also have this small chops pack with samosas, spring rolls, and puff-puff that’s perfect for sharing if you're with two or three people.

The 24-hour part is real. I saw a crew from a nightclub in Alagbaka come in around 2 a.m. and the staff handled them fast. The menu is straightforward - mainly Nigerian classics with some continental options for the people who like their food "less peppery." Prices range from 1,500 to 3,500 naira depending on what you add. Cash and transfer both work, but POS wasn't available when I visited.

One thing I'd warn about - don't expect a quiet dining experience. It's open plan, so you hear the traffic from Oba Adesida nonstop. And the air conditioning struggles a bit with the open door. But for a 2 a.m. hunger fix, it beats driving all the way to Oshinle or waiting for mama put in the morning.
