Dilemma

To the survivors
That don't know there are heroes!

I salute, prostrate, bow, raised my head!
Enduring so ingrained, suffering a nature
A selected lot I guess
Passive reluctance to push
With weary eyes, dogged resistance
Breaking and cracking bones!
Agonizing survival instinct!

Perhaps heroes are passive!
Perhaps tactful!
Perhaps just sitting on the block!
This dilemma is surviving!
It's staying alive!

Agonizing! traumatizing! languishing!
But living 'safe'!
A safe so passively heroic!
A safe so actively grieving!
