Once upon a time, in a very small town, lived two girls named Mara and Clara. Mara and Clara were sisters who lived in a small cottage with their parents, petty traders. Their parents were proud of them because they were hardworking and respectful.

One day, their father came back home with a beautiful mirror from the market as a gift for his daughters, who had been so hardworking and loyal. When Mara and Clara saw the mirror, they leaped for joy because of its beauty and elegance. They had never seen anything as beautiful as the mirror, and thus they treasured it greatly.

Every day, both girls would take turns cleaning and wiping the mirror until it sparkled. Each morning, Mara and Clara would stand in front of the mirror, staring at themselves for hours, changing clothes and fixing their hair until the mirror showed them a look they were satisfied with.

Mara and Clara became so obsessed with the mirror that their formal routine changed. They made it a must to always clean the mirror and change their dressing patterns until they felt satisfied with their reflection. They became less confident in whatever they wore and always took every opportunity to look at the mirror. Whenever they felt someone's gaze or heard murmurs behind them, they would feel it was because they didn't look good enough, which would make them rush home to change.

As time passed, Mara and Clara started neglecting house chores and even their parents due to their obsession with the mirror. They could spend the whole day looking at the mirror, changing clothes, and worrying about their looks. They walked around with uncertainty about their outward appearance, concerned about what people would say.

A disastrous disease broke out in the town, taking lives, including Mara and Clara's parents. Mara and Clara were so busy with their mirror obsession that they didn't notice their parents' suffering. Their parents wailed and cried all night in agony, calling for their daughters, but Mara and Clara were lost in their room, locked up with their mirror.

After many nights of pain and struggling without help, Mara and Clara's parents died a painful death. When the girls discovered their parents were dead, they wailed and cried bitterly, rolling on the ground. But alas, it was too late; no amount of wailing could bring their parents back.

After their parents' death, Mara and Clara took to the streets, begging for alms and assistance. Their parents' store, their only source of survival, had been neglected and was now gone. Every day, the girls cried in regret, remembering their past life with their parents before the mirror's arrival.

With their parents gone and no one to help, the girls had no time for the mirror. They even sold it to buy food. In the end, both girls learned their lesson the hard way: don't let fancy things and others' opinions consume you, causing you to lose focus on loved ones and family.

Addiction to social media is like the mirror. Many are concerned with their online image, neglecting reality. Social media likes and comments have become crucial, leading us to spend time creating content for short-lived happiness, craving more until we lose ourselves.

As Christians, balance every aspect of life. Don't let social media entice you to lose focus on God. Learn from Mara and Clara, who were lost in their mirror obsession, ignoring their parents' cries until they died.

Social media shouldn't replace God or family time. Use it wisely, avoiding addiction. Don't escape reality; be the real you and portray Christ everywhere, even on social media.
