#Infertility
Infertility has affected millions of people and has an impact on their families and Communities. For instance in marriage some Communities believe that a wife should bore kids and if she fails then it's her fault.
Although both women and men can experience Infertility, women in relationship has always been perceived to suffer from infertility regardless of whether they are infertile or not.
This has resulted to many women being divorced by their very own husband's terming them a curse to their families, social stigma, emotional stress, low self esteem and depression.
Infertility could be caused by lifestyle factors such as smoking, excessive alcohol intake and obesity.
Hormonal disorder, abnormal sperm function and quality, obstruction of the reproductive tract just to mention a few, result to infertility in men.
Individuals and couples have the right to decide the number, timing and spacing their children.Infertility can negate realization of these essential human rights, therefore important to address infertility.
To effectively address infertility health sectors should recognize that infertility is a disease that can often be prevented,
thereby improving treatment services.
Additionally incorporating fertility awareness campaigns, promoting healthy lifestyles to reduce behavioural risks, including prevention, diagnosis and early treatment of STIs as well as preventing complications of unsafe abortion is essential.
