📍Zaria, Nigeria

Hearing about a new restaurant taking over the old St. Augustine seafood store spot has got me curious. That place has been empty for a while now, right? It was never the busiest corner, but it had its regulars. The location on Kano Road near the old market junction is actually decent, but parking is always a headache there. If this new management knows how to handle that, they might have a shot.

I really hope they bring something different. Zaria is full of bukas and small chops joints, but we lack proper sit-down places with good service. If they are doing fresh seafood, they need to compete with the grilled fish spots around Sabon Gari. Those places already have loyal crowds. A new restaurant will have to offer top-notch hygiene and consistent taste or risk dying fast. I am cautiously optimistic because fresh, well-cooked fish is always welcome, but I will wait to see the menu before getting excited. For now, I’ll stick to my usual spot by the roundabout.

Ehn the parking thing is real o. I swear every time I go near that junction I already know I'm about to circle 3 times before finding a spot. But honestly if they sort that out and actually keep the place clean? Might be worth trying. Just hope they don't do that thing where the food is nice the first month and then they start cutting corners. Sabon Gari people no go forgive them lol
