HOME COMING
Chapter 1
My name is Tobias Amarachi and here is my story.
There's no place like home papa always say. Your home are your family and not the building. No matter how far a chick go about, it's always return home back it's mother. That was my case here.
Hey! leave the road the driver screamed at a man who stood by the walk way. The buses were in high speed and the people were all in haste. This isn't same in my Acha, my hometown.
Acha is a beautiful village that's made up of three autonomous communities and headed with one Igwe ( king). Kingship is shared between the three communities and whoever is in turn to rule produces an heir to the throne from the chosen family.
Early in the morning, My mother wakes my little brother and I before moving to my father's room to pray. Apparently, father's room was made an prayer alter.
I really hate the farming part of this family. With cutlass and basket we are set for the farm. Father would ride his bicycle behind us and sometimes my brother would be lifted on the seat.
The farmland was of a long distance, one would have to pass through Umiri Eku before getting to the farm, story had it that the water goddess do set out early morning, most hunter's who are fearless and farmers confirmed such weird stories. It was in one of those I told mama that I want to go to the city.
Aunty Mary and I got to her apartment in Maza-Maza, it was a two bedroom flat. We had other neighbors who also lived in the same building.
The journey from the village down to the city was hectic, my bones ached from the long standing in the Mole bus. I had to stand all through the whole time. The apartment wasn't bad, it was better than the village house alittle.
Ogechi and Praise came to say hi as I got to know that. It was nice meeting new people but I couldn't say anything to them.
