Nigeria at Sixty-three:
This land is not yet free!
Born a giant in Africa;
Crawling like the dwarfs of Antarctica!
Free from the ties of the Colonial Masters;
Now bound by the chains of Civilian Monsters!
The best are masters in other clime';
But asking for the best to rule us is, here, a crime!
We have weak institutions, but strong men!
We called for revolutions and ended in their den!
We opted for elections, but they rewrote our votes with their pen!
Our trusted men have failed us...
..Our media TWISTING our VOICES!
..Our military THREATENING our
VILLAGES!
... Our Election Umpire TRIFLING with our VOTES!
... Our Judiciary TEARING down our VALUES!
...Our Crerics TEA-PARTYING with the VULTURES!
At Sixty-three,
We are not yet free!
...and if we fail today;
...and continue in this path of decay;
At Ninety-three,
Our children shall not yet be free!
